Convert Lottie to MP4 for Instagram
Turn a Lottie animation into an Instagram-ready MP4 for Reels, Stories, and feed posts — free, in your browser.
How it works
- 1Upload a Lottie file (.json, .lottie, or .tgs), or try the example
- 2Adjust frame rate, quality, resolution and transparency
- 3Export to any format — or optimize and repackage as dotLottie
Nothing is uploaded. SVG output uses SMIL and needs no JavaScript; APNG and WebM keep the full color and transparency GIF can't.
About converting Lottie to MP4 for Instagram
Instagram takes MP4 (H.264) — not Lottie, not GIF-as-animation. Convert your motion asset here and it's ready to upload: pick 30fps for smooth playback and 2×–4× resolution so it stays crisp after Instagram's own compression.
Sizing tips: Reels and Stories are 9:16 (1080×1920), feed posts are 1:1 or 4:5. Export at your animation's native ratio and place it on a background in your editor, or design the Lottie at the target ratio to start with. MP4 has no transparency — flatten onto your brand background before exporting if the animation is an overlay.

Frequently asked questions
What specs does Instagram want?+
MP4 (H.264), up to 60fps; 9:16 for Reels/Stories, 1:1 or 4:5 for feed. 30fps at 2× resolution is a solid default from this tool.
Can I upload a GIF to Instagram?+
Not as an animation — Instagram converts everything to video. Export MP4 directly and skip the quality loss.
Why is MP4 disabled in my browser?+
MP4 needs an H.264 encoder in the browser's WebCodecs (desktop Chrome/Edge). Otherwise export WebM here and convert, or switch browser.
