Convert Lottie to GIF for Discord

Make a Lottie work as a Discord emoji, sticker, or chat GIF — sized to Discord's real limits, converted free in your browser.

How it works

  1. 1Upload a Lottie file (.json, .lottie, or .tgs), or try the example
  2. 2Adjust frame rate, quality, resolution and transparency
  3. 3Export to any format — or optimize and repackage as dotLottie

Nothing is uploaded. SVG output uses SMIL and needs no JavaScript; APNG and WebM keep the full color and transparency GIF can't.

How to convert Lottie to GIF for Discord

  1. 1

Drop in your animation. Drag & drop a Lottie .json, .lottie, or .tgs file — or paste a URL. It loads instantly and never leaves your browser.

  2. 2

Tune the output. Set frame rate, quality, and resolution up to 4× — plus a transparent background where the format supports it.

  3. 3

Export & download. Hit the export button and the file downloads straight from your browser — free, no watermark, no signup.

About Lottie GIFs for Discord

Discord plays GIFs everywhere — chat, emoji, stickers — but each surface has hard limits. Animated emoji must be ≤256 KB (Discord renders them tiny, so export small: 1× of a 128 px source is plenty). Stickers are 320×320 and prefer APNG, which this tool also exports. Chat GIFs can be larger, but stay lean if you want them to load fast on mobile.

The file-size levers that matter here: resolution first (emoji don't need more than 128–160 px), then frame rate (12–18 fps reads fine at emoji size), then quality. Convert, check the size under the download, and re-export in seconds if you need to shave kilobytes — nothing uploads, so iteration is instant.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Discord reject my animated emoji?+

Almost always the 256 KB cap. Drop resolution to ~128 px and frame rate to 12–15 fps here and re-export — that usually lands well under it.

GIF or APNG for Discord stickers?+

Discord stickers officially use APNG (320×320, ≤512 KB) — export APNG from the same panel. Emoji and chat animations are GIF territory.

Do transparent GIFs work on Discord?+

Yes — enable the transparency toggle and the emoji/GIF sits directly on Discord's dark or light theme instead of a white box.

Is this uploader safe for server assets?+

Yes — there's no uploader. Everything runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded to a server.
